2006 Tour Report

2006 Herman Miller Holland Hundred Team (100+ riders)

The 2006 Holland Hundred Bicycle Tour was our most successful tour to date.  The 32nd edition of the Tour boasted over 900 riders!

The new Friday night registration and pre-registration packet pickup for the event at Velo City Cycles was a big hit.  This allowed pre-registered riders to pickup their material the night before the event and avoid potential long lines at the school the morning of the ride.

Here’s the breakdown of our 2006 ridership:

By Distance

  • 18 Mile Route: 80 riders
  • 36 Mile Route: 260 riders
  • 67 Mile (100k) Route: 305 riders
  • 100 Mile (Century) Route: 287 riders
  • unknown distance: 8 riders

Men / Woman / Age

  • 624 Male riders
  • 316 Women riders
  • Average Age of a rider was 42 years.

Riders hailed from all over Michigan, as well as: New Hampshire, Arizona, California, Washington DC, Georgia, and Texas.

This was the 2nd year that Macatawa Cycling Club organized and ran the event. I would like to thank Marshall Michmerhuizen for all of his tireless work in making this the best Holland Hundred ever.  Marshall and fellow MCC club members have some exciting ideas for the 2007 edition and we sincerely hope you’ll join us in July 2007 for the 33rd Annual Holland Hundred Bicycle Tour.
