Red Banks, NJ via wild wunnerful West Virginia

I have called myself a cyclist for:
Since I scored that Fuji S-10-S from my Sunday School teacher in 9th grade (1970). There are three cyclists in da house coutin' me.

These are the bikes that I own:

1. Seven Axiom (roadie)
2. Seven (ATB)
3. Burley Duet (road tandem)
4. Burley (off-road tandem)
5. Faggin ('cross)
6. Viner (track)
7. "Rose" (mid 80's Bianchi Campione)
8. "The Silver Surfer" (my race bike from high school now equiped w/ an X-tracycle for haulin' groceries)
9. "Miss Daisy" (the purple cruiser)
10. "Putty" (my trusty commuter)
So I guess that's only.......10. (I need to work on that.)
Vital Stats: 90% steel, 10% ti, 50% US, 30% Eye-talian, 10% Japanese, 10% Taiwan, 10% from the 70's, 30% from the 80's, 20% from the 90's and 40% from this decade.

Favorite bike:
I have the strongest memories, both good and bad, from bein' on the Seven ATB.

Dream bike:
Steel Seven road bike w/ S&S couplers and fenders or a Rivendell.

Average number of miles riden a year:
3000 or so, but on my home planet the air is thicker and gravity stronger so the miles I do count for more around here.

Favorite cycling memory/memories:
1. 12 Hours of Pando, the rainy year. (2000)
2. Kokopelli's Trail, the 2nd time. (1999?)
3. First ever 12 hours O' Bass River.
4. Riden' up into Arches Nat'l Parl w/ Sam. (2003)
5. Touring Dorr County w/Linda, pulling Katie in the trailer. (1984ish)
6. 24 Hour Challenge. (2002)
7. Riding out to a 17th Century Spanish mission w/ Maynard H, Joel F and Suzie D in Tucson. (2002)
8. 3rd place, NORBA Nationals tandem class w/ Zac D. (199-something)
9. Ridin' across Wisconsin w/ BTH. (1978)

Worst cycling memory:
1. Bonk from Hell: 3rd day of Kokopelli's Trail the 1st time. (1998?)
2. Crash from Hell: Endoing my tandem in Kamikaze Downhill, Traverse City NORBA race.
3. Weather from Hell: 12 Hours of Pando. (2000) Yep...1 event both lists!
4. Hell in General: Iceman 2002, the mud on 2nd day of Kokopelli (2002) and any Coach Troy tape workout.

All time favorite ride/route:
Dirt-"Zippity Doo Dah" in the Bookcliffs, Fruita Colorado or Amasa Back in Moab.
Road-Arches National Park, Moab

Cycling advice and tips:
Don't draft Doez after he eats at La Hacienda.

Favorite cyclist and why:
Maynard Hershon- Why, read any of his stuff, he's what cycling ought to be. (except when he's crabby, then he's more like what cycling is.)

Average number of flat tires per season:
2.458

Favorite ice cream flavor:
Chocolate w/ fudge bits, chunks, chips, etc.

Preferences:
- Campagnolo over Shimano
- Steel over aluminum, ti or carbon
- Bibs over shorts

Riding fuel:
Tap water w/ Diet Pepsi chaser.

Post ride snack:
Black bean chips and Religious Experience Salsa bay-bee!

Favorite song to have stuck in my head during a ride:
"Viva Las Vegas" by Big Guitars from Memphis, "Math Prof Rock Star" by Jim's Big Ego or "Ten Men Working" by Neil Young and the Blue Notes.
